Nurses are often with patients in difficult moments and a caring and compassionate nurse at the right time can make all the difference.
In the past, nurses worked mostly in hospitals. Today, the nursing profession has greater opportunities which require a wider breath of knowledge and critical thinking skills.
To honor the contributions and commitment to health care of nurses, International Nurses Day is observed on May 12, the birthdate of Florence Nightingale.
This year’s theme is "Positive Practice Environments: Quality Workplace Equals Quality Patient Care."
On International Nurses Day we honor all nurses worldwide for their dedication and commitment in carrying out their critical role in the delivery of healthcare services to the sick people of the world.
